About WinchGear

WinchGear was born out of Road Runner Offroad's obsession with hard off-roading and competitive winch challenge racing. When you spend your weekends buried to the chassis, leaning on a winch harder than most people think possible, weaknesses show up fast. WinchGear exists because we got tired of those weaknesses. We build and modify winches for real-world use like heavy winching, long pulls, heat, and competition use. Every product we release is developed in-house, based on our own experience breaking, improving, and refining winches in the harshest conditions Australia can throw at them. We don't just design from a desk. We design from the track, the bush, and the workshop.

Our Story

Road Runner Offroad has been part of the Australian 4WD scene for years, supplying serious off-roaders with parts that work. As winch challenge racing and hardcore recovery became a bigger part of what we do, it became clear that off-the-shelf solutions weren't cutting it.

WinchGear was created as a dedicated brand to push winch performance further. Stronger components, smarter features, and upgrades that actually solve problems faced by hard users. From rebuild and upgrade kits to performance-focused modifications, WinchGear products are engineered to make winches tougher, faster, and more reliable under load.

Wherever possible, we design and manufacture locally. We are proud to offer a growing range of fully Australian-made products and continue to invest in local manufacturing to maintain quality, control, and innovation.
